Life Membership
Life Membership is the highest award available to recognise an exceptional contribution by
a club member. As such it should only be awarded in exceptional circumstances.
Criteria
The following criteria are a guide only. They have been prepared to assist with the selection
of individuals for the award of Life Membership.
The following factors should be taken into consideration:
- The nominee’s length of service which should be at least 8 years as a competitor, or
10 years in administration, not necessarily consecutively. - The nominee must be a currently active, financial member
- The nominee must have demonstrated an overall demeanour consistent with Club
values - The nominee must have demonstrated an outstanding contribution in at least 1 of
the following areas, and demonstrated some contribution in at least 2 of the other 3
areas, or through other contribution as deemed appropriate by the committee:
a) Club Administration
b) Club Development and Leadership
c) As a Competitor
d) General contribution
Benefits of Life Membership
- Exemption from club membership and ride day fees
- Listings in official club documents
Retraction of Life Membership
Retraction of life membership may occur where the recipient has conducted
him/herself in a manner that reflects adversely on the image of the club and its
values. This provision will require the full unanimous support of the committee.
