Volunteers & Officials

Volunteers and officials are an essential part of the Sports Riders Club of Tasmania (SRCT). Ride and race days would not occur if the various roles and positions were not filled by people who selflessly donate their time.

Roles and positions required depend on the event but are wide ranging. Some of these positions include:

• Clerk of Course
• Starter
• Flag marshals
• Timing
• Stewards
• Scrutineering
• Riders sign-on
• Recovery team

New officials and volunteers are provided support, on the job training and are mentored into roles by experienced officials and volunteers.

As a volunteer of the Sports Riders Club of Tasmania, you also have the opportunity to obtain a Motorcycling Australia Officials License. This can pave the way to volunteering at National level events such as the Australian Superbike Championship, and even International level events such as the FIM Superbike World Championship and MotoGP.

Officials and volunteers can be up-close and personal to the action. In fact, some positions give you the best seats in the house and in some cases, you couldn’t be closer to the action other than being on a bike, riding around the track.

Officials and volunteers are provided with a complimentary lunch and a free ride day in return for their contribution.

The SRCT also organises BBQs and other social events that volunteers and officials are welcome to attend.

As a volunteer you will become part of a great club community which embraces people form all walks of life, providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a rider, a partner/spouse/parent of a rider, or just a lover of motorsport (or motorbike riding). Anyone willing to volunteer their time is always welcome.
