We’d integrate an events plugin to the site which will give you the ability to create events and display an upcoming evets calendar on the site. You can have the option of people pre paying, if there is a cost involved. Emails are sent to the site admin as people register for events and attendees are readily viewable from the back end of the site so you can monitor numbers.

I’m not sure about it automatically emailing users upcoming event details at this stage, the plugins  have looked at so far don’t but I haven’t given up on this feature. If not we can handle it in the newsletter area below.
